Stonecutter Capital Management LLC is a real estate investment company founded in 2012 by Scott Zucker and Robert Kunzweiler. Based in New York City, Stonecutter’s principals bring their collective base of relationships and deal making experience to real estate transactions. Stonecutter is a boutique firm that operates entrepreneurially yet presents institutionally, that is nimble in its decision making and execution yet disciplined in its approach to risk. The commitment to integrity and faithful reporting of progress are guiding principles of Stonecutter’s approach to business. Stonecutter and its affiliates have raised close to $1 billion of equity in multifamily and other real estate assets, select residential developments, and adjacent operating businesses.
Prior to forming Stonecutter, Messrs. Zucker and Kunzweiler worked together as bankers for more than ten years at Natixis and its predecessor entities. Over that time, they cultivated relationships with owners, operators, investors, lenders and other professionals. They honed their expertise not only in debt financing and capital markets, but also in management of real estate assets, workouts/foreclosures, redevelopment and complex transaction structuring.
Scott Zucker worked at CDC Capital Markets and its successor organizations, IXIS and Natixis. Mr. Zucker was instrumental in growing the U.S. commercial real estate business from its founding to nearly $5 billion in annual loan originations with 65 employees in four offices. Mr. Zucker ultimately served as the Co-Head of the business group. Prior to joining CDC, Mr. Zucker worked on large loan origination at Nomura Asset Capital Corporation. Mr. Zucker began his career at Kaye Scholer, where he worked for nine years specializing in real estate, bankruptcy and reorganizations. He holds a B.A. in Economics and History from Emory University, and a J.D. from the Northwestern University Law School.
Robert Kunzweiler worked at CDC Capital Markets and its successor organizations, IXIS and Natixis. He was focused on the origination, structuring and underwriting of complex real estate transactions for the bank’s principal operation as well as for execution in the capital markets. Mr. Kunzweiler ultimately served as the Managing Director heading Natixis’ mid-west regional office. Previously, Mr. Kunzweiler held a position in Fitch Ratings’ commercial mortgage backed securities group. He graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics.
